New York Closes Six Rest Areas

In a move to save more money, New York State closed the final four of six rest areas this month. The move is expected to save $500,000 annually. Although, the plan calls for the rest areas to be reopened in 18 months some are doubtful.

One organization that is weary of the closings is the New York State Motor Truck Association who believes truck parking is already limited for semi trucks.

The state rest areas of Lewis (southbound) and Schroon Lake (northbound) on Interstate 87 and Worcester (eastbound) and Wells Bridge (westbound) on I-88 closed Dec. 2. Last month, Brewerton/Hastings on I-81 (southbound) and Schodack on I-90 (westbound) closed.

Two Pennsylvania Men Arrested for Having Rest Stop Sex

Two men from Pennsylvania were arrested for having sex at a rest area.

Craig Campeau, 49, of Reading, Pa. and Dean Knoop, 49, of Easton, Pa. were both observed having sex at the Exit 7 rest area on I 78 westbound. Both men were arrested without incident and taken in for processing.

Both were charged with lewdness and trespassing due to the fact they were engaged in sex on state property adjacent to the rest area.

The rest area at Exit 7 in Bloomsbury, NJ is well known as a meeting place for anonymous sex among gay men. Condoms are commonly found in the nearby wooded areas and path found on both sides of I 78 in New Jersey Conjugal lewdness: or, matrimonial whoredom..

New Jersey closing rest area on I 80 Pennsylvania border

In an effort to save money New Jersey will be closing two rest areas including one
on Interstate 80. The rest area borders Pennsylvania.

Closure of this rest area as well as one on I-295 will save the state an additional $270,000
a year. It will also mean the layoff of 18 workers, mostly maintenance personnel.

Exit 7 Rest Area I 78 New Jersey

This rest area in New Jersey is not a great place to stay overnight. It is frequented by gay people who meet up for sex. The discarded condoms are easily found.

How would I know? Well, I stopped there to let the dog do his business and he came across a discarded condom. It's not easy trying to remove a condom from a dog's mouth with a stick.

Damn people, throw that shit away in a garbage can. For my dog's sake please.

Pennsylvania Turnpike Service Plazas

There are 20 service plazas conveniently located along the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

The plazas are open 24 hours a day and offer a variety of fast food and full service dining options, fuel, public telephones, rest rooms and other amenities. Many locations have gift shops and picnic areas. In addition, there are seasonal outdoor Farmers Markets located at the South Somerset, Sideling Hill, Valley Forge, and Allentown Service Plazas. From early spring to late fall, Turnpike travelers enjoy shopping at these markets which carry Pennsylvania farm products and various craft items.
